What We BelieveWe believe that "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (II Timothy 3:16, 17). One learns the way of salvation through the teachings of Holy Scripture. Every dimension of the Christian life is founded upon the Bible. "...faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17). It is from the Word of God that we have written assurance of our salvation. "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. "( I John 5:11-13). The Bible is filled with many wonderful promises. " And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. " ( Matthew 28:20). " God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." ( Psalm 46:1). "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13). OUR VIEW OF GOD We believe that there is only one God who exists eternally in three persons who are fully equal in every divine perfection: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. MAN AND HIS NEED OF SALVATION We believe that we are made in the image and likeness of God. Our sin separates us from God. A holy God cannot accept sin. Scripture tells us, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23). The good news is that God loves us. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." We believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. |
